Assistant Professor

Laboratory of Tropical Ecology and Dendrology, Department of Forest Sciences, UFAM, Brazil

Bio

I am an Assistant Professor at the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM), where I lead the Laboratory of Tropical Ecology and Dendrology (LEDT). I hold a B.S. in Forest Engineering from the State University of Amapá (UEAP) and both an M.S. and Ph.D. in Botany from the National Institute of Amazonian Research (INPA).

Since 2015, I have collaborated with research conducted at the INPA Seed Laboratory, and since 2022, with the MAUA research group at INPA, working on plant morphology, botanical identification, functional traits, and near-infrared spectroscopy focusing on Amazonian biodiversity and the development of integrative approaches for the identification and documentation of tropical flora.

I collaborate with national and international research networks and initiatives, including the Amazon Tree Diversity Network (ATDN), the Tropical Seed Trait Database (TSTD), the International Herbarium Spectral Digitization (IHerbSpec) initiative, and the World Flora Online Sapotaceae WFO Taxonomic Expert Network. I also serve as a professor in the Graduate Program in Forest and Environmental Sciences (PPGCIFA/UFAM) and the Graduate Program in Botany (PPGBOT/INPA).

My primary research interests include the taxonomy and systematics of Amazonian tree flora, particularly the family Sapotaceae, spectroscopy for species identification, species distribution modeling (SDM), floristics, and the ecology of Amazonian ecosystems. Pronouns: she/her/hers.
